Staple Fiber
If you looked at this fiber under a microscope you would see a strand of fiber that is cut to specific lengths. The fibers are often machine crimped resembling a W turned on its side This fiber can be either slick or dry and usually has a hole running its length to increase the loft or fill power. The fiber washes and dries easily.

Cluster Fiber
This fiber looks like little fluffy snowballs. This fiber is usually sold as a down alternative as it makes a very soft pillow. Each individual polyester cluster is very slick and maximizes fill power or loft. The fiber washes and dries easily.
