Description
FoamFold® roofing recovery board from Carpenter Co., Insulation Division is a rigid expanded polystyrene foam wafered between two protective facers. FoamFold® is a smooth, shock absorbing underlayment for use under commercial single-ply membranes. Fanfolded every 2 feet means FoamFold® is easily installed. It lays flat with no ridges which could adversely affect seaming integrity. It may be installed under most single-ply roof membranes including mechanically fastened and loose laid ballasted systems*.
Installation Procedures
- FoamFold® may be loose-laid over the existing roofing system.
- Roof should be free of loose stones and debris. Larger imbedded stones should be dislodged to prevent protrusion through the recovery board.
- Holes or blisters should be patched or cut prior to installation.
- Use approved plate and screw fasteners to temporarily protect against movement from wind gusts and foot traffic. Install the single-ply membrane according to manufacturer's instructions.
EPS should not come in contact with chimneys, heater vents, steam pipes or other surfaces where temperatures exceed 150 (degrees F).? It is not recommended for unballasted applications where sustained roof temperatures exceed 165 (F) or intermittent temperatures exceed 180 (F).? Overlayment board such, as + ?wood fiberboard or +? perlite, must protect EPS before the direct mopping of hot asphalt or torching of modified bitumen.? Care should be taken when using solvents, cleaners, cements, adhesives, sealers and hot air welders on or around EPS insulation.
