StyroDeck™ Tapered Roof Systems
Why design a taper roof system?
We all know that long-term performance and adequate drainage go hand in hand. In fact, without positive drainage, some manufacturers will not even warranty the performance of their membranes.
The problems created by the ponding of water on the roof deck such as leakage, ice damage, additional weight stress, difficulty of repair and membrane protection are all reduced significantly with the proper roof design.
Whether you are doing a new or reroofing job, Carpenter EPS can be designed and cut to your individual specifications. We custom cut and label every section in order to match computer-engineered slope to drain specifications that can eliminate ponding. If requested, we can provide you with fast and accurate take-offs and estimates utilizing our CAD systems and trained personnel.
Now, with a roof of StyroDeck™ Tapered Expanded Polystyrene engineered by Carpenter, you can achieve positive drainage and superior thermal insulation in one single step.
EPS should not come in contact with chimneys, heater vents, steam pipes or other surfaces where temperatures exceed 150 (degrees F). It is not recommended for unballasted applications where sustained roof temperatures exceed 165 (F) or intermittent temperatures exceed 180 (F). Overlayment board such, as wood fiberboard or perlite, must protect EPS before the direct mopping of hot asphalt or torching of modified bitumen. Care should be taken when using solvents, cleaners, cements, adhesives, sealers and hot air welders on or around EPS insulation.
